  • Participate in the AFIT post-UTME screening.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

AFIT also offers Direct Entry for candidates with prior qualifications. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Hold a minimum of Upper Credit in ND or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Have at least two (2) A-level passes in subjects relevant to the intended course.
  • Possess at least five (5) SSCE/NECO credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Fulfill the specific entry requirements for their chosen course.

AFIT Admission Requirements and Application Process

National Diploma (ND) Admission Requirements

Engineering and Technology Programmes

Candidates seeking admission into AFIT’s ND programmes must have five (5) O’level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and an additional science subject. The eligible programmes include:

  • Aircraft Engineering Technology
  • Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Explosive Ordnance Technology (exclusively for military and vetted paramilitary personnel)

The required UTME subject combination for these courses includes Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Business Administration and Management Programme

O’level Requirements

Prospective students must possess five (5) SSC credit passes, including English Language (excluding Literature in English), Mathematics, and any three (3) from the following subjects: Economics, Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Geography, Office Practice, Biology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History, Government, Typewriting, or Shorthand.

UTME Subject Requirements

Candidates must have studied Mathematics along with any two (2) of the following subjects: Geography, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts, or Economics.

Pre-Higher National Diploma (HND) Admission Requirements

Pre-HND programmes are designed to help ND graduates transition into HND studies. The eligibility criteria for engineering-related Pre-HND programmes include:

  • A National Diploma (ND) with a minimum lower credit pass (CGPA of 2.50) in relevant fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Material Science Engineering.
  • At least one year of relevant post-ND work experience.

For candidates pursuing a Pre-HND in Procurement and Supply Chain Management:

  • A National Diploma (ND) with a minimum lower credit pass (CGPA of 2.50) in a related field from a recognised Polytechnic.
  • At least one year of relevant post-ND work experience.

AFIT Application Instructions

Undergraduate Application Process

Login and Payment

First-time applicants should log in using their JAMB registration number formatted as an email (e.g., 2024401234CE@afit.edu.ng) and use their JAMB registration number as the password. Upon successful login, candidates must reset their email and password before proceeding.

Applicants must make an online payment of ₦2,000 via the designated portal. No account number is needed; candidates only need to enter their debit card details. Once payment is completed, the system will redirect them to the application portal to continue with their bio-data entry.

Application Submission

Candidates should complete all required fields in the application portal. The form can be saved and submitted in multiple sessions. It is essential to remember the login credentials to resume the application later. Proper mixed-case formatting should be used when entering names. Upon submission, applicants must print a copy of their application for future reference.

Postgraduate Application Process

Payment and Registration

Candidates must:

  1. Visit the AFIT postgraduate application portal.
  2. Click on “New Postgraduate Application” and create an account.
  3. Make a payment of ₦10,000 using a debit card.
  4. After payment confirmation, return to the portal to proceed with the application.

Application Completion

Once the payment is successful, applicants should:

  • Fill in the required bio-data details.
  • Upload a clear passport-sized photograph.
  • Review and submit the application form.
  • Print a copy for reference.
  • Arrange for an official transcript to be sent to the AFIT Registrar, Kaduna.

After submission, no modifications can be made, so candidates should review their entries carefully before finalizing the application.

HND Application Process

To apply for an HND programme, candidates must:

  1. Access the HND application portal.
  2. Provide their email and password.
  3. Enter their biodata and academic details.
  4. Print the generated photocard upon submission.

In addition to online submission, applicants must ensure their transcripts are sent directly from their previous institutions to the AFIT Registrar for verification.

AFIT Course Registration Process

After admission, students must register for their courses through the Air University Learner Portal. The process includes:

  • Submitting a course application for the academic year.
  • Waiting for approval before selecting specific courses.
  • Booking a session within the open enrollment window.

AFIT’s University Status and Course Accreditation

University or Polytechnic?

AFIT attained university status on 3 August 2018, granting it approval to offer degree programmes. The institution provides B.Sc. and B.Eng. degrees alongside ND and HND courses.
