Established in 2011, SAZU operates three campuses in Misau, Bauchi, and Gadau, with the latter serving as the main campus. In June 2024, the institution transitioned from BASUG to Sa’adu Zungur University and is in the process of updating its website from basug.edu.ng to sazu.edu.ng.

Registration Process for SAZU
Prospective students must utilize the Sa’adu Zungur University registration portal for admission applications. The university provides various programs, including evening classes, diplomas, certificates, part-time degrees, and HND-to-BSc conversions. Applications for the 2024/2025 academic year will close on 2 February 2025. Below is a step-by-step guide to completing the application:
- Access the SAZU applicant portal to begin the application.
- Create an account by selecting New Application and providing the required details.
- Log in using your phone number and password.
- Pay the N10,000 application fee and fill out the application form.
- Upload necessary documents, such as a passport photograph.
- Review the application for accuracy before clicking Submit.
- Print the completed application by selecting Print Application.
Applicants will receive SMS notifications with details of the screening date, time, and venue.
How to Check SAZU Admission Status Online
Applicants can verify their admission status via the SAZU portal or the JAMB portal. Below are the steps for each method:
Using the JAMB Portal:
- Log in to your JAMB profile using your credentials.
- Scroll to the Check Admission Status section.
- Enter the exam year and registration number.
- Click Check Admission Status to view your SAZU admission status.
Admitted students can download and print their admission letters from the JAMB portal.
Screening Requirements
Physical screening for shortlisted candidates commenced on 13 January 2025 and will close on 27 January 2025. Applicants must present the following:
- Original and photocopies of their credentials.
- SSCE result printout, JAMB result, online screening form, a recent passport photograph, and a scratch card for O’Level verification.
- Evidence of uploading their O’Level results at a JAMB-accredited center.
Successful candidates should check the JAMB portal within two to three days after screening to accept and print their admission letters. Only candidates accepted on JAMB can access the SAZU admission portal.

Acceptance Fee and Admission List Details
The acceptance fee is reportedly N2,500 for indigenous students and N5,000 for non-indigenous students. This fee should be paid after accepting the admission offer. The 2024/2025 first, supplementary, and third-batch admission lists have already been released. Only successfully shortlisted candidates appear on these lists.
