UTME 2024: JAMB Sends Message to Candidates on how to Reactive Profile Code
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a directive for specific candidates preparing for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to utilize the ‘RESEND’ option by sending it to either 55019 or 66019, depending on the number previously employed, in order to “reactivate” their profile code.
This announcement was made by the examination board for tertiary-level institutions on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in response to a tweet.
According to JAMB’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, candidates are instructed to send ‘RESEND’ to either 55019 or 66019, based on the number used initially for generating the profile code.
The UTME is an annual examination conducted by JAMB in Nigeria, and the scores obtained therein play a pivotal role in determining a student’s admission into higher institutions such as universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, among others.
Getting JAMB profile code
Reactivating or creating a profile code is a simple process, provided UTME candidates adhere to JAMB’s instructions.
Upon completion, candidates will promptly receive an SMS confirming their data along with the unique profile code.
It is recommended that candidates utilize their personal phone numbers as JAMB will communicate with them through this provided number.
Additionally, candidates should ensure that no special characters are included in the SMS they send.
To reactivate your JAMB profile code, simply send the specified command to either 55019 or 66019, and the issue will be resolved accordingly.
Tips to excel in JAMB 2024
The chairman of MIMS Educational Services, Lagos, Adesegun Ogungbayi, advised candidates preparing for the 2024 UTME to establish a study schedule.
Ogungbayi recommended forming study groups and practicing time management.
He emphasized the importance of creating a study schedule until the examination day, organizing study materials, setting specific goals, prioritizing weak areas, and practicing past questions.
Additionally, candidates should seek clarification from teachers, form study groups, utilize online resources, practice time management through CBT apps or CBT centers, and maintain a positive and confident attitude until the examination.
This proactive approach to exam preparation was highlighted by Ogungbayi, who stressed the significance of thorough planning and strategic study methods. Candidates were urged to adopt these practices to enhance their chances of success in the upcoming UTME.
