The Federal University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) was established in 1988 and is situated in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. The university provides both conventional and distance learning programs. Admission Requirements

Undergraduate Admission

To be admitted to UNIABUJA at the 100 level, students must meet several key criteria:

  • A credit pass in five subjects, including English and Mathematics (with no more than two sittings).
  • Three of the credit passes must be relevant to the chosen course.
  • An acceptable score in JAMB and the university’s post-UTME examination.

For Direct Entry (DE) admission, candidates must possess two ‘A’ Level passes or equivalent qualifications, along with five O’Level credit passes, including English and Mathematics.

Postgraduate Admission

Postgraduate applicants must hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree with credit passes in five subjects, including English and Mathematics. Additionally, a Master’s degree candidate for Ph.D. programs must have obtained a weighted average score of at least 60% or a ‘B’ grade.

Cut-off Marks and Second-Choice Policy

The university’s JAMB-approved cut-off mark is 180 for all courses, but candidates should consult UNIABUJA for specific departmental cut-off marks. UNIABUJA does not admit students who selected the university as their second choice in JAMB, which is an important distinction to remember when applying.
