The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that they will release the results of the first batch of students who took the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) public in the near future.
The JAMB X account, formerly known as Twitter, issued this notification on April 20 in response to inquiries.
The UTME examination for the year 2024 started on April 19 and is set to be open until April 29. A total of 1,985,642 applicants have registered for the test that will take place this year.
This is a huge increase from the 1,595,779 students who registered for the examination that will take place in 2023.
Educationnews.ng understands that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is working hard to finish all of the essential screenings before announcing the results of the 2024 UTME.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) administers the UTME, which undergraduate students interested in attending Nigerian institutions must take.
The board also oversees examinations that are comparable for applicants to Nigerian public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
Scores on the UTME may vary anywhere from 0 to 400, and they are valid for a period of one year. Despite the fact that English is a required subject for all students, subject combinations vary based on the candidate’s selected area of study.
Following the conclusion of the examinations, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will convene to establish the minimum required scores for admission to postsecondary institutions. In general, the cut-off points for universities are the highest, while the cut-off values for other institutions are much lower.
In a recent statement, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reaffirmed its position against test fraud and its prohibition on specific things during the examinations.
It was stressed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in a document that Educationnews.ng was able to get that the prohibition of physical calculators and other devices is intended to safeguard the integrity of the UTME.
