DELSU Matriculation Ceremony 2024/2025.
Delta State University (DELSU) has announced its matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session, an event designed to formally welcome new students into the institution. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 25 January 2025, and will occur simultaneously at both Abraka and Oleh campuses.
Matriculation Schedule
The schedule for the matriculation ceremony is as follows:
Abraka Campus
- Time: 9.00 a.m.
- Venue: Convocation Arena, Site III, Abraka
- Seating Time: Matriculating students must be seated by 8.30 a.m.
Oleh Campus
- Time: 11.00 a.m.
- Venue: 1000-Seating Capacity Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Engineering
- Seating Time: Matriculating students must be seated by 10.30 a.m.
Gown Collection and Return
Collection Procedure
Faculty Officers will receive gowns from the Senate Division and distribute them to students. Matriculating students are to collect their gowns from their respective Faculty Officers according to the schedule below:
- Start Date: Monday, 20 January 2025
- Time: 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. daily
- End Date: Friday, 24 January 2025
Return Procedure
- Deadline: Gowns must be returned to the department by Monday, 27 January 2025.
- Penalties: A fee of ₦1,000 will be charged for each day a gown is overdue. Gowns not returned or damaged will incur a replacement fee of ₦10,000.
- Prohibition: Renting gowns to photographers is strictly prohibited. Security personnel will confiscate any gowns found in violation, and offenders will face disciplinary action.
Attendance and Guidelines
Attendance Policy
Attendance is compulsory for all new students, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey. Faculty Officers have been tasked with ensuring strict compliance with the ceremony’s guidelines. Late arrivals will not be permitted to participate in the event.
Invitation
The university extends invitations to Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, staff, students, and other members of the DELSU community to attend the ceremony and support the matriculating students.
