Alumni Launch N1 Billion Endowment Fund for Infrastructure Development
The Ekiti Baptist High School Old Students’ Association (Lagos/Ogun region) has initiated a N1 billion endowment fund to meet the requirements of their alma mater and revive its former prestige.
During the launch, Ifeloka Oyebade, the President of the association, emphasised the crucial role of the fund in fostering the school’s development.
The individual expressed dissatisfaction with the inadequate funding of the institution since the government’s assumption of control in 1976, resulting in substandard infrastructure.
Several amenities, such as the dining hall, classrooms, and laboratories, are presently in a substandard condition.
According to Oyebade, the allocation of funds will enable the provision of comprehensive teaching and learning facilities, with the aim of reinstating the school’s former prestige.
According to Dr. Biodun Adedipe, the Chairman of the planning committee, the association expresses its worry regarding the state of the school. Consequently, the association is committed to allocating its quota by giving the necessary finances to address the essential learning infrastructure.
Consequently, he extended an invitation to acquaintances, relatives, and other alumni to collaborate with him in order to guarantee the prosperity of the endowment fund.
Regarding the advantages of the fund, Adedipe noted that there exists a lack of awareness among many individuals regarding the superiority of endowment funds. Numerous institutions and international businesses employ them to sustain the robustness of their enterprises.
Dr. Christine Adebajo, another member, has also declared the association’s intentions to renovate the library and furnish it with the necessary resources for efficient study.
